Hi everyone -
Two quick notes:
1) My apologies for not posting more HITs this summer. I got married(!) and changed jobs a few weeks ago, so things have been hectic. Rest assured, I plan on posting some interesting games this coming year, including a few games that require long-term (10 week) participation. More details to come.
2) We all know that there are many bad requesters out to exploit workers. To help this problem, I and two other researchers created a tool called "Turkopticon." Turkopticon is a (completely free) Firefox or Chrome extension that allows you to see other Turkers rankings of each requester *directly on Mturk.com* (without the tool, there is no way to rank requesters). In the coming months, we hope to add a lot of new features, like the ability to see the average *hourly wage*, ranking and rejection rate of each requester.
Installing it is very easy and will help you find the good jobs quickly and avoid the bad requesters. You can check it out here: http://turkopticon.differenceengines.com/.
You can see some comments on Turkopticon at Turker Nation here: http://turkers.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=kscripts&action=display&thread=4236
(and for those of you who don't use it, Turker Nation (turkers.proboards.com) is a great resource to talk to other Turkers.)
Feel free to email me with questions.
Thanks and have a good day,
Ned
